WHEN CHOOSING THE SIZE of your deer blind, first determine the number of people to be housed and the amount and type of equipment they will be using. What is important is not necessarily how many people, but how many chairs will fit. Consider the type and size of chairs to be used in the deer blind: a stool takes up about half the space of a swiveling office chair with armrests. 

To determine what size you’ll need, mark an outline of the size you think will work on the floor and place your chairs within those marks. It works better if you use a room corner that way you can utilize two walls. 

Secondly, consider the equipment, guns, cameras, heater, food items and other to be used. Place these or other substitute items within your marks to help determine your comfort level. Remember that optional gun rests and shelving can be added to facilitate storage of these items when not in use.

Shorter towers are typically more sight specific, such as hunting a feeder or food plot. If you're an outfitter, allowing your customers to hunt from a tall tower blind can add a new perspective to their prestigious experience harvesting a trophy on your ranch.
